All Hallows Eve

On All Hallows Eve, our parish held a party for the children. It was so cute to see all the children dressed up as saints! They had snacks, games, prizes and candy of course!

Mr. Funny had a hard time eating with that beard. ;)

My Little Miss Chatterbox looked so beautiful dressed up as St. Cecilia.
It was really difficult trying to keep Little Miss Sunshine away from the games! She wanted to play them all but has no concept of how to stand in line! ;)
When it was time for the kids to parade around the room, they all gathered in the hallway. Then someone announced that it was time for the children to enter the room but none of the children seemed to understand or maybe they were just unsure about it? I'm not quite sure. But anyway, my shy little Mr. Tickle walked right up to the front of the line and marched right in! Then the rest of the kids followed. He turned his head and smiled at me and waved. He was so proud! It was the cutest thing ever. Some mom's sang, "Oh when the saints, go marching in..."
Then we went home and prepared for our own party! We had lots of goodies to eat!

Apples and Caramel Dip
Snack Mix with pretzels, popcorn, dried cranberries and candy corn.
Candied Walnuts (super easy to make and so delicious!!)
Toasted Pumpkin Seeds (tradition from my childhood. A must have for this time of year!)
and Spiced Apple Cider (The kids didn't care for this. They prefer regular apple cider)

Someone kept getting caught sneaking onto the table and eating all the candy corn!
Mike (aka: St. Francis) and I built a little fire pit in the backyard so we could roast hot dogs and marshmallows any time we please. :) Definitely a new All Hallows Eve tradition! We loved it!
(But hopefully next year there won't be snow on the ground!)

Especially Mike, who truly felt like a Franciscan. hehe
After dinner we cleaned up and the kids got their jammies on. We lit candles and incense and prayed the Litany of the Saints.
Every year we gather up all the saint statues and put them together. I loved having them under our Sacred Heart picture this year. Especially with our lit up pumpkins. It looked so beautiful!

Time for Saint Trivia!
This year I put the questions into different categories. Whoever gets a right answer, gets a piece of candy. Chatterbox almost got all the answers right!

Chatterbox and Funny with their loot.

Funny wanted to take a picture.

Sugar kicking in... kids getting goofy.
Francis': Out for the night
It was truly a blessed day/evening!
